Americana Decor
I recently decided to go with an Americana Decor for my front porch/lawn. I found this flag at our local DG and painted our name on it. I thought it turned out cute and wanted to show-off a little. :> Here is where I hung it and the two little stars thingys I found also.

ARGH!!!
This is a pic of a painting I have been working on for a duck hunter...
I have been working on this painting for friggin' ever and can't seem to complete it! What with four kids, an impossible-to-keep-clean home, the constant nagging of "loved" ones; and the knowing I have of the impatience he must be experiencing wating on my slow ass to actually finish the darned thing! I'm having background issues. I can't come up with one that I like! Not to mention I have yet to be told what is supposed to be written in the banner to serve as a caption for the painting! ARGH!! I'm sorry I just felt like venting a little about my "painter's block"; I'm sure in time it will be okay, but as of right now that seems like a long shot! Thanks for letting me vent!

And The Award Goes To...
ME!! I was blessed today to recieve not one but two awards from my blogger friend ((& IRL friend:>)) Anna! She was very kind to think of me and to share theses awards with me, and Yeah my first awards!!
The first award she gave me was the "Friends" Award.
"These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."
The second is "The Honest Scrap Award".
Honest Scrap award:
A) First list 10 honest things about yourself - and make it interesting, even if you have to dig deep!
B) Pass the award on to 7 bloggers that you feel embody the spirit of the Honest Scrap.
10 things about me:
1) I have zero tolerance for people who would rather talk about you than to you!
2) I hate cleaning my house but love when it is all done.

A little more of my Art Project Display
I wanted to share a few of my other art works with you:
This is a door that I painted, it is also one of the first pictures I ever painted. It is done in acrylics.
This is a cabinet I did in my father-in-law's shop; it is also done in acrylics.
and lastly for this post is a pencil sketch I did of a Canadian goose.
Please feel free to leave me a comment letting me know what you think!

Untitled
I went to a birthday party,
But I remembered what you said,
You told me not to drink at all,
So I had a Sprite instead,
I felt proud of myself,
The way you said I would,
That I didn't choose to drink and drive,
Though some friends said I should,
I knew I made a healthy choice and,
Your advice to me was right,
As the party finally ended,
And the kids drove out of sight,
I got into my car,
Sure to get home in one piece,
Never knowing what was coming,
Something I expected least,
Now I'm lying on the pavement,
I can hear the policeman say,
"The kid that caused the wreck was drunk",
His voice seems far away,
My own blood is all around me,
As I try hard not to cry,
I can hear the paramedic say,
"This girl is going to die",
I'm sure the guy had no idea,
While he was flying high,
Because he chose to drink and drive,
That I would have to die,
So why do people do it,
Knowing that ruins lives?,
But now the pain is cutting into me,
Like a hundred stabbing knives,
Tell my sister not to be afraid,
Tell Daddy to be brave,
And when I go to heaven please put,
"Daddy's Girl" on my grave,
Someone should have taught him,
That it is wrong to drink and drive,
Maybe if his Mom & Dad had,
I'd still be alive,
My breath is getting shorter,
And I'm getting really scared,
These are my final moments,
And I'm so unprepared,
I wish that you could home me Mom,
As I lie here and die,
I wish I could say,
I Love You & Goodbye.

A Mother's Prayer
Lord help me remember when I feel it's a chore,
The time will come when I'll hold her no more,
Asleep on my chest-the blanket refused,
The crib, the pacifier all gone unused,
For infants grow up and leave us behind,
With only memories left to remind us,
Of midnight walking and pre-dawn rocking,
Of soft helpless babies unable to sleep,
So Lord make me patient and keep me awake,
As I cradle this baby and don't let me take,
For granted the moments I spend in the night,
With this baby - Your gift
My joy - My delight.
